DNS Search order I have a client that is having some issues with DNS resolution over the SSL and remote user VPN. When they have a remote user logged in over the SSL VPN or the remote user VPN it takes over a minute to resolve a name while mapping a drive. Here's the workaround I use: I tell VPN users who need to access resources on the other domain to use the FQDN - this way when the request hits the DNS server, it knows to forward it to another zone. If users type in the shortname (ie. server01) without the domain, the VPN client adds the default suffix and they never get a DNS response. DNSSuffixSearchOrder specifies the suffix search order for the name resolution. For DNS clients, you can configure a DNS domain suffix search list that extends or revises DNS search capabilities. By adding suffixes to the list, you can search for short, unqualified computer names in more than one specified DNS domain. Meraki has nowhere to add this. I've been putting all PC's on Meraki VPN because I can add DNS suffix in the connection settings, but the iPads do not have this option. Now I know this is not a feature offered by Meraki, at least not yet. But is there some way to set up a DNS redirection or something. I have 2 domains.
